Coworking Europe 2020 conference at Covid-19 phasing out times

The Coworking Europe 2020 conference will take place on November 25-27th in Vienna (Austria), with an off-site day in its twin city Bratislava (Slovakia).

Good news from Austria

We are very happy that the event will take place in Austria. Austria is among the first countries to reduce its lock-down measures. Most shops and offices have reopened, restaurants will follow within the next 2 weeks. The local healthcare system is monitoring the situation closely. As of end of April, daily new infections are well below 100 for more than a week.

Those are just great news.  Although the Austrian government has an official ban of large scale events in place until end of August, at this stage the Austria Center Vienna is convinced that regular events such as ours scheduled in fall 2020 and afterwards will take place. Since the situation and regulations change weekly, we will keep monitoring the situation closely and keep you up to date on any changes.

Regarding actions taken by the venue, note that the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) will implement an extensive package of measures based on the recommendations of the WHO and local authorities. The ACV and Coworking Europe intend to ensure the greatest possible security for all delegates:

  • A corona task force at ACV is constantly concerned with current developments and ensures the direct implementation of all measures – based on the recommendations of the WHO and the guidelines of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health
  • All sanitary facilities will have alcoholic hand sanitizers. In addition, mobile disinfection dispensers will be offered during the conference
  • Hygienic paper will be provided to speakers at lecterns to disinfect keyboards, mice and microphones
  • All mechanically ventilated areas in the house will be supplied with fresh air via the ventilation systems
  • Participants will be informed on-site about the general hygienic measures recommended by the WHO (frequent hand washing and disinfecting, sneezing in the elbow, use of handkerchiefs, etc.)

Other technical options are currently explored by the event and conference industry, such as UV lighting that kills viruses on a broad scale, not to mention masks and face shields that will be widely available in the coming months.

Great news for the coworking sector

As bad as the crisis is at this moment, we are also seeing big opportunities coming up on the horizon; people and companies have massively adapted and experienced remote working across Europe. Together with companies looking to become more flexible to deal with the crisis, we expect coworking to accelerate its adoption rate and expansion in the coming months and years.

Here what some of our clients say:

“Coworking spaces can expect a huge rise in demand; companies will look very quickly for even more flexibility to be able to adapt their office to the size of their teams”, Bureau à Partager

“Any shake up of traditional workplace practices on the scale we are currently seeing can only be good for the coworking sector long term”, Venture X UK & Ireland

“The coworking model will likely take a bigger slice of the office market, also in smaller cities” JLL Poland

“The current situation shows that the integration and combination of flexible working spaces is very much relevant. People will notice right now that the style of working will – due to the strong digitization that we are forced to learn and use right now – expand the topic of the remote working-style by far”, mrp hotels

We are proud to have chosen Austria as our 2020 destination and to have the City of Vienna as an important partner of Coworking Europe 2020.

The conference is a unique networking event for all the coworking communities operating across Europe and beyond. The best coworking world experts and practitioners will share their thoughts, insights and ideas during the 3-day event. Check our program and speakers lineup to find out more.

We expect more than 500 professionals coming from different European countries and around the globe at the Austria Center Vienna and HubHub Bratislava. During 3 days, we will conduct a global sector examination and in-depth exploration into the different facets of the coworking industry and, of course, a big deal of the conference will be devoted to the impact of the Covid-19 and how to re-boost everything after the craze.

Due to the ongoing situation, Early Bird tickets will be fully refundable until September 30th. We hope this way you can book your ticket and get the current 50% discount without worry.
