Austria changes its “Teleworking” law to include cafés and coworking spaces.
On January 1, 2025, the new Teleworking Act (TelearbG) will come into force, replacing the previous home office regulations and bring important changes.
Among the important changes, Teleworking will take into account work in other places than the employees’ homes, namely cafés, coworking spaces or holiday destinations – “if employers and employees agree to this in writing”.
A concrete impact of this change, for instance, is that “Accident insurances” will apply to all forms of teleworking, and not be limited to people’s dwelling.
