Valencia Region in Spain Sees 12% Annual Growth in Coworking, Driven by Startups and Evolving Work Models

Valencia is consolidating its position as a key hub for coworking and flexible office spaces in Spain, with the sector recording an annual growth rate of 12%.

This development reflects the city’s response to changing work models and the expansion of its entrepreneurial and technological ecosystem, explains this Emprenem Junts article.

Several local coworking operators have contributed to this growth.

WayCO, for instance, a local company founded in 2013, now operates three centers in Valencia. The firm manages a total of 6,400 square meters and serves more than 400 users and 50 companies. By 2026, WayCO aims to reach 11,000 square meters, focusing on neighborhoods with strong transport links.

Another notable project is The Terminal Hub, opened in October 2024 in the former maritime terminal of the Port of Valencia. The space offers 5,000 square meters and 550 workstations, currently housing 32 companies. It is expected to generate an economic impact of €7 million by the end of 2025.

According to the Startup Observatory of the Valencian Community, writes Emprenem Junts,  the number of startups increased by over 15% in 2024, totaling 1,517 firms and generating more than 20,000 jobs.

The adoption of hybrid and remote work models has also played a significant role in boosting flexible workspace demand, comments the article. Events like the Valencia Digital Summit have enhanced the city’s international profile and supported networking and investment opportunities for startups and entrepreneurs.
