Independent Romanian Coworking Operator aSpace Keeps Expanding Its Offering in Bucharest

Romanian independent coworking operator aSpace is expanding its footprint in Bucharest with a 35% increase in leased space at the Global City Business Park in the city’s northern area. The company currently operates 1,400 m2 at this location, with a reported occupancy rate of 90%.

The new extension, expected to be completed within two months, will add approximately 490 m² to the existing space. It will include 10 to 12 private offices, each designed for teams of two to six people.

With approximately 7,000 m2 under management, across six locations, and a 15% share of Bucharest’s flexible office market, aSpace is positioning itself for continued expansion in the capital and beyond. With the new openings, aSpace will operate a total of 9,000 m² of coworking space.

The decision to expand comes in response to sustained demand in northern Bucharest for small office spaces and open-plan areas, often used by freelancers. Local commuting patterns and school locations in Pipera have contributed to consistent demand for flexible workspace closer to residential areas, says this article.

aSpace reported a turnover of €1.49 million in 2024, reflecting a 20% year-on-year increase. For 2025, the company projects a growth rate exceeding 15%. Between 2022 and 2024, the number of aSpace’s active contracts doubled to more than 400.
