Berlin to Open “House of Games”, a 15,000 m² Coworking Hub for the Gaming Industry, in 2026

Berlin will open a new coworking and innovation hub dedicated to the gaming industry in 2026.
Called the “House of Games,” the project will span approximately 15,000 m2 and serve as a central location for a broad spectrum of players in the gaming and digital entertainment ecosystem. These include national and international developers, startups, e-sports companies, tech providers, agencies, research institutions, and freelancers. More than 25 potential tenants have already expressed interest.
The House of Games is being developed with support from public and private stakeholders. The initiative is coordinated by medianet berlinbrandenburg e.V., with the game – Association of the German Games Industry serving as knowledge partner.
The game developer Ubisoft will act as an anchor tenant, while the state-owned WISTA Management GmbH will operate the facility.
The project is backed by the Berlin Senate Chancellery and is part of the current Berlin coalition agreement. The state government has allocated €4.6 million to the project, complementing the €5.3 million invested in the regional games industry in 2023.
The location, which will be in central Berlin, will be announced on June 10, 2025. Eighty property candidates have been investigated.
The House of Games will include coworking areas, private offices, multifunctional spaces, audiovisual studios, event and exhibition zones, and a gaming museum. According to the project coordinators, the aim is to promote collaboration across business, culture, and education, while enhancing Berlin’s position as Germany’s leading gaming hub.
The city is home to around 300 gaming-related companies and institutions employing approximately 2,600 people. The House of Games is expected to increase international visibility for the local sector and create new synergies for project development and innovation.
