ICICI Bank Inks Major 820-Seat Deal with WeWork India Marking Significant Long-Term Return to Flexible Workspaces

WeWork India has secured ICICI Bank as its newest member at the Spectrum Tower centre in Malad, Mumbai, with the bank signing up for 820 seats in a significant long-term commitment. The agreement marks ICICI Bank’s return to WeWork India, following its previous lease of around 450 seats at Oberoi Commerz in Goregaon in 2020, which concluded last year as part of a workspace consolidation exercise.

The new workspace at Spectrum Tower will house the bank’s IT, tech, and support teams, reflecting a growing trend among major corporations to blend flexible workspaces with conventional offices. “Companies that worked in a partial hybrid mode after the pandemic are calling back all their employees to office, which effectively means bigger requirement for office space,” said Rajan Chathay, Workspace Manager at WeWork India.

ICICI Bank is one of India’s leading financial institutions, offering services ranging from retail and corporate banking to investment banking, insurance, and asset management. The bank also operates internationally, serving a diverse portfolio of clients and products, making the addition of their tech teams at WeWork’s Malad centre notable both for its size and scale.
