The Living Room (Malaga) – 8 Keys to Boutique Coworking Success

This 2025 Coworking Europe presentation by Ben Kolp, co-founder and CEO of TLR Coworking in Málaga, outlined eight operating principles for boutique coworking. Kolp introduced TLR as a single 600-square-metre location founded in 2015 and serving 150 members. The deck placed the business within a local market timeline that moved from a small group of early operators before 2015, through a growth phase from 2015 to 2019, to an expansion of larger and more numerous competitors from 2020 onward. Its eight stated principles were that individuals counted, team synergies mattered, events strengthened community, nature created connections, screens made people happy, wellbeing increased belonging, productivity involved choice, and automation freed time. Photographs of members, staff, events and the workspace illustrated the presentation’s emphasis on community and day-to-day experience. The closing slide framed these principles as TLR’s response to competition in a crowded coworking market and described its intended culture as one of sharing, thriving and laughing together.
