Plymouth-based coworking operator BLOCK secures €7 million to support national expansion

UK-based flexible workspace operator BLOCK has secured approximately €7 million in private equity funding to support its national expansion across the United Kingdom. The company currently operates around 7,400 square metres of workspace, a figure it expects to double to approximately 14,900 square metres by the end of 2026 as new locations are opened and existing sites are expanded.

Over the same period, the number of private offices is set to increase from around 130 to approximately 250.

According to Plymouth Chronicle, the investment was provided by Isca Ventures and Gent Family Investment Company and will support BLOCK’s expansion into additional UK cities, with new openings planned in Manchester and Birmingham in spring and summer 2026. The funding will also be used to scale the operator’s workspace portfolio and expand its mix of private offices and shared facilities.

Commenting on the investment, Ben Cheriton, Founder and CEO of BLOCK Workspace, said: “This is an incredibly exciting moment for BLOCK. We have found the right funding partners to support the next phase of our journey, and this investment allows us to take a business that was born in the South West and scale it nationally.”

Founded in Plymouth, BLOCK currently operates flexible workspaces in Plymouth, Exmouth, Taunton and Bristol, smaller to mid-sized cities, each with populations well below the UK’s largest metropolitan areas.

The operator offers a combination of private office suites, coworking areas and event spaces, complemented by lifestyle-oriented amenities such as gym and studio facilities, coffee shops and cocktail bars, depending on location.
