Portugal’s Feel Group Secures €1.5M to Scale Coworking and Accommodation Model Internationally

Portugal Ventures has invested €1.5 million in Feel Sampa, a unit of Portugal-based Feel Group focused on flexible hospitality and workplace solutions, including coworking. The investment is intended to support the company’s growth and international expansion into Brazil. The funding is provided by Banco Português de Fomento, a Portuguese institutional investor that backs entrepreneurial and growth-stage companies.
Feel Sampa, launched in 2024, specialises in serviced apartments for short- and medium-term stays alongside coworking spaces and associated business support services. The capital will also fund the company’s first major project in São Paulo, where the Vertical Sujinho Coworking & Flats development is scheduled to open in the first half of 2026.
According to Publituris, a Portuguese tourism trade publication, the mixed-use building will combine 37 apartments, 8 private offices, 5 meeting rooms, event areas and networking spaces, rooftop facilities and wellness/fitness areas. The project is expected to generate around 90 jobs.
The São Paulo scheme adapts Feel Group’s blended accommodation and workspace model previously implemented at Vertical Firmeza Coworking & Flats in Porto, Portugal. Food and beverage facilities, including a cafetaria, restaurant and rooftop grill, are planned as part of the integrated offer.
Feel Group’s board includes Nuno Trigo, co-founder and co-chief executive of Portuguese coworking operator Vertical Coworking, which was co-organiser of the Coworking Europe 2023 conference in Porto. Vertical Coworking operates three spaces in Porto, offering more than 200 workstations alongside private offices and meeting facilities.
Trigo oversees activities across the broader group and its associated brands. “This investment enables us to scale our integrated hospitality and workspace concept into one of Latin America’s largest urban markets,” he said, commenting on the funding and expansion plans.
Feel Group’s profile combines hospitality, tourism and flexible workspace operations under one corporate umbrella. Established by founders Rui Lé Costa and Nuno Trigo in 2009, the group began with local accommodation and has expanded into several business lines including real estate investment, nature tourism, mobility services and flexible workspaces.
Its portfolio comprises accommodations in Porto and Douro and services in São Paulo, alongside coworking operations under the Vertical Coworking brand. Within the group’s chronology, Vertical Coworking was introduced in 2021 to meet demand for flexible workplaces and complements the group’s broader hospitality portfolio.
