WeWork moves into airports and railway stations with bookable work booths

WeWork is expanding beyond traditional office locations by entering high-traffic environments such as airports and railway stations. The company is rolling out WeWork Go with bookable individual work booths as part of a broader strategy to cover the full working journey of mobile professionals, according to the company’s official announcement.
The move reflects a wider trend among large operators to extend their presence beyond core assets and into transit and short-stay environments. According to CoStar, International Workplace Group (IWG) is investing in phone booth solutions through partnerships such as Jabbrrbox, with plans to deploy 3,750 units in locations including major airports in the United States.
WeWork’s new offer, branded WeWork Go, is based on compact, bookable units placed in high-footfall locations. These include airports, railway stations, hotels and convention centres. The spaces are designed for short-term use, allowing users to book access on demand for focused work during travel or between meetings.
The booths are self-contained and designed for individual use or small groups. They include seating, desk space, connectivity and acoustic insulation, providing a private working environment in otherwise busy public settings.
The launch builds on WeWork’s vertically integrated platform, combining real estate, services and technology into a unified offering. The company’s portfolio includes several products targeting different use cases. WeWork All Access provides subscription-based entry to multiple locations globally. WeWork On Demand enables pay-as-you-go booking of desks and meeting rooms. Private Office offers dedicated, long-term space for teams, while Sourced and Managed Solutions deliver fully customised office environments operated on behalf of enterprise clients.
WeWork Workplace, introduced in 2022, adds software tools for workspace management and hybrid work coordination. WeWork Go extends this ecosystem into transit and high-mobility environments.
In parallel, in Februrary 2026 WeWork has announced the expansion of its Coworking Partner Network to more than 2,000 locations, enabling access to workspace beyond its directly operated portfolio. This network-based approach supports a more asset-light growth strategy and increases geographic coverage.
CEO John Santora said: “The workday is no longer static; it doesn’t start and end at a desk. It happens in a busy terminal, between flights to your regional office. WeWork Go is a powerful extension of our platform and another bold step toward delivering real estate solutions designed for the way the world works today.”
Founded in 2010, WeWork operates a global platform of more than 600 locations, covering around 4.18 million sqm. The company serves over 500,000 members worldwide through its flexible workspace offering.
WeWork is also represented at Coworking Europe. Rebecca Nachanakian, General Manager for Continental Europe at WeWork was a speaker in Berlin in 2025. The company is owned by Yardi, which is a Platinum sponsor of Coworking Europe 2026.
