WeWork Occupancy Back To Record Highs Across Major European Markets

WeWork has reported its strongest occupancy levels in Europe since before the Covid-19 pandemic, with several major cities now approaching or reaching full capacity. According to Rebecca Nachanakian, General Manager for Continental Europe at WeWork, occupancy in Paris has reached 84%, the highest level recorded since the pre-pandemic period.

The recovery extends across several of WeWork’s largest European markets. Occupancy has reached 85% in Madrid, 89% in Brussels, 94% in Milan, 95% in Munich, while Lisbon has achieved 100% occupancy, highlighting strong demand for flexible workspace in key European business centres.

The figures indicate a continued recovery in occupier demand despite a challenging office market environment.

“Market expectations have evolved, however: flexibility remains essential, but experience, quality of service, and hospitality have become true differentiators. The office has once again become a driver of collaboration, team integration, company culture, and innovation” – said Rebecca Nachanakian to French media La Tribune.

The strongest performance has been recorded in Europe’s largest metropolitan markets, where employers continue to adapt their workplace strategies. Rather than committing to long-term conventional leases, many organisations are combining permanent offices with flexible workspace solutions to accommodate changing workforce requirements.

Paris has been one of WeWork’s key European markets since the company entered France in 2016. Following its restructuring, the operator streamlined its portfolio across several countries while retaining a focus on high-performing flagship locations in major cities. The latest occupancy figures suggest demand has recovered significantly across these core assets.

Founded in 2010, WeWork operates a global platform of more than 600 locations, covering around 4.18 million sqm. The company serves over 500,000 members worldwide through its flexible workspace offering.

Rebecca Nachanakian will be a speaker at Coworking Europe 2026 in Paris, in November. The company is owned by Yardi, which is a Platinum sponsor of Coworking Europe 2026.
