German St. Oberholz opens first coworking location outside Berlin with 400 workstations in Munich

German coworking operator St. Oberholz has opened its first coworking location outside Berlin. The new Munich site, called St. Erika, provides more than 400 workstations, alongside team offices, meeting rooms and event spaces.

The workspace is located on Erika-Mann-Straße, a few minutes from Munich Central Station. Google, Apple and Meta all have offices nearby, placing the new location within one of the city’s key business areas.

St. Erika is already open, with flexible offices and coworking memberships available. Members have 24/7 access to the workspace. The location also includes meeting rooms for between two and 20 people, as well as workshop and event areas.

A café will follow in spring 2027. The café format has been closely linked to St. Oberholz since the company started in Berlin more than two decades ago. St. Oberholz opened its first café at Rosenthaler Platz in 2005, creating a space where working with laptops was explicitly welcomed. The concept gradually developed into a combination of cafés, coworking and flexible offices.

According to Co-founder and CEO Ansgar Oberholz, the company has built 12 locations over its 21-year history. The Munich opening marks the first time its coworking concept has expanded beyond the Berlin region.

St. Oberholz currently has 13 locations, including the new Munich site. The company also has a presence in Frankfurt (Oder), a small city on the Polish border, where they operate a café-coworking on Sparda-Bank Berlin’s behalf, called BLOK O.

Beyond its urban coworking locations, St. Oberholz also operates a countryside retreat location around 150 kilometres north of Berlin. The property is designed for company offsites and team stays, combining work and meeting facilities with hotel accommodation, a restaurant and spa.

St. Oberholz was also a partner of Coworking Europe 2025 in Berlin. One of the conference’s networking evenings was hosted at St. Oberholz on Rosenthaler Platz.
