Alexa Lightner, managing director B-Amsterdam (NL)

Alexa Lightner is the managing director of B-Amsterdam, which started as a coworking space in IBM’s old Amsterdam typewriter factory in 2014 and has grown, twelve years later, into a 40,000 m² campus of three interconnected buildings offering coworking, flexible offices, events, sports facilities, food & drink,  active community programming, and soon housing (with the opening of B. at home in 2028) to over 350 startups, scale-ups, and corporates.

Originally from the U.S., Alexa began her career by helping open and scale one of Boston’s first coworking companies, Workbar, in 2013. Since then, she has spent over a decade helping people and teams around the world improve collaboration and strengthen connection by combining physical space, process, and technology – always driven by a belief that human connection is the basis of trust, understanding, creativity, and innovation. After working for several startups and scale-ups in the U.S. and the Netherlands, she came back to her roots in coworking and joined B. Amsterdam in April 2026.
