Dr. Boyko Takov has been the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency since November 2018.
He has over 12 years of experience in business management.
Dr. Takov also has extensive experience in state institutions, having held an expert position in the state administration for 4 years. Furthermore, from 2008 to 2012, he served as CEO and a member of the board of directors at the Bulgarian branch of a leading South Korean energy company.
Throughout the years, he has held various leadership positions in well-developed business areas, gaining experience in agriculture, energy, infrastructure, as well as managing investments, projects, and finances.
Additionally, Dr. Takov obtained a master’s degree in “Marketing and Economics” from the University of National and World Economy. He also received a PhD degree in “Economics, industrial engineering, and management” from the Technical University, Sofia. Currently, Dr. Takov is actively teaching as an assistant at the University of National and World Economy.
Since 2021, he has been a board member of the International Network for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (INSME), based in Rome, Italy. In the same year, he was nominated as the Head of the National Focal Point for Responsible Business Conduct for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) by the Council of Ministers decision.
