Turlough O’Brien, from Dublin, Ireland, has served in the Irish Civil Service for the last 13 years. In that time he has worked across a wide-range of policy and operational areas including labour market activation, cyber security and public sector pay policy. He is currently an Assistant Principal Officer with the Department of Rural and Community Development. Working in the Regional Development and Innovation Unit Turlough works to identify and develop strategic policy initiatives that use innovation and digital technology to support balanced regional development and sustainable rural communities.
