Vienna based Andys inaugurates collaboration with Austrian Railways Cy ÖBB to open coworking locations

Vienna based Andys inaugurates a test collaboration with the Austrian Railways Cy ÖBB to open coworking locations in small cities railway stations.

ÖBB wants to install a new business model in vacant properties and office space at its train stations. The idea ? To cater short planning sessions, meeting of project partners who arrive from all directions and have to move on quickly, or small company meeting where employees dock briefly and then swarm out again.
A coworking space with 430 m2 of work space operated by Andys will open in October at Amstetten train station (a 22.000 inhabitants town, located between Linz and Vienna).

“With our shared office project in Amstetten, we are creating an attractive offer for rail travelers and residents on the one hand, and on the other hand we can revitalize existing areas in the station buildings and put them to new use”, explains Erich-Pirkl, Managing Director of Immobilienmanagement GmbH of ÖBB.

The new space will offer a total of eight private offices with around 23 fixed workstations and 15 flexible workstations in the Fixed Desk area. There will be two meeting rooms and two web conference rooms as well as a multifunctional room for workshops, exhibitions or smaller events, says the company.

A few months ago, Andys has won the “the ÖBB Green Marketing Award (B2BE) for special performance in CO2 reduction, resource conservation and social sustainability”.
