Dutch The Social Hub Opens Gigantic New Location in Rome, Following Launches in Porto and Florence

The Social Hub (TSH) has inaugurated its newest location in Rome’s San Lorenzo district, marking the continuation of its expansion in Europe following recent openings in Porto and Florence.

This development, costing €114 million, occupies a 24,000 m2 site that was previously a railway customs house, now converted into a modern complex with a variety of facilities.

TSH Rome features a coworking space designed to accommodate 160 professionals, emphasizing TSH’s focus on providing workspaces across its European locations. The complex also includes a four-star hotel with 396 rooms, meeting and event spaces, and a dining area that offers local cuisine and a rooftop bar.

The location of TSH Rome is strategic, situated close to the main train station and within proximity to the city’s iconic landmarks, facilitating access to cultural and historical sites. The project aims to contribute to the urban regeneration of San Lorenzo, enhancing its appeal as a creative and dynamic area. The complex includes a public park of 10,000 square meters that will open in the summer, adding green space to the urban environment. TSH Rome is expected to achieve BREEAM certification, reflecting its compliance with high environmental standards.

Additionally, the site will host over 600 community events annually, aiming to integrate and support local creative and entrepreneurial activities, says a TSH press release. The Social Hub also supports educational initiatives through a partnership with Accademia Italiana, which hosts more than 200 students at the location.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Amsterdam, The Social Hub has grown into a prominent figure in the hybrid hospitality industry, managing over 20 hotels and 10,000 rooms across Europe’s key cities. Each location is designed to be a vibrant community hub, integrating hotel facilities with coworking spaces, event venues, and more to create dynamic, multifunctional environments. With its continued expansion, including upcoming locations in Lisbon and Turin, The Social Hub remains at the forefront of blending lifestyle, work, and leisure to foster community and innovation.
