Norwegian Coworking Brand INC. to Open 10th Location in Oslo

Norwegian coworking brand INC., operated by workplace services provider Compass Group Norway, is set to open its 10th location as part of a redevelopment project in central Oslo.
Compass Group Norway has signed an agreement with real estate developer OBOS to operate the INC. coworking concept and deliver integrated workplace services in OBOS’ former headquarters at Hammersborg Torg. The office complex includes more than 31,000 square metres of office space across several interconnected buildings currently undergoing refurbishment. The size of the coworking component and the financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, Compass Group will manage coworking areas alongside workplace services for tenants in the complex. The offering will include shared workspaces, private offices, meeting rooms and conference facilities, combined with services such as catering, cleaning and hospitality management. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2027, once the redevelopment of the property is completed.
The project represents Compass Group Norway’s largest commercial investment in the country to date.
INC. is the coworking brand developed by Compass Group Norway to provide flexible workspace within larger office buildings. The concept currently operates nine locations, mainly in Oslo, offering coworking desks, private offices and meeting facilities targeted primarily at small and medium-sized companies. The spaces are integrated into larger commercial buildings and combine workspace with hospitality services, event spaces and conference facilities.
The model reflects Compass Group’s broader strategy of integrating workplace services with flexible office operations, positioning coworking as part of a wider service offering for landlords and building tenants.
According to Marius Pedersen, Chief Commercial Officer at Compass Group Norway, the project represents an important step in the development of the brand. “This is not just a new project for us. It is our largest commercial investment so far. We have already established INC as a functioning coworking concept, and Hammersborg Torg provides a strategic platform for further growth in central Oslo.”
The coworking operation forms part of a larger redevelopment project led by OBOS, one of Norway’s largest real estate developers and housing cooperatives. The company is renovating its former headquarters complex at Hammersborg Torg, transforming the site into a modern office destination in the city centre.
Construction and refurbishment work on the property has been commissioned to Norwegian contractor Veidekke. Once completed, the upgraded complex will accommodate multiple tenants and shared amenities, with INC responsible for operating the coworking environment and delivering services to occupiers.
Part of a global services group Compass Group, headquartered in the United Kingdom, is one of the world’s largest providers of workplace services, including food services, cleaning and facilities management for corporations, public institutions and healthcare organisations. The group operates in more than 25 countries and is listed among the Fortune Global 500 companies.
Through the INC brand, Compass Group Norway has extended these services into the flexible workspace sector, combining coworking with hospitality and operational support inside commercial office buildings.
