Portuguese district.space Opens Its Second Location, a 1,800 sqm Coworking Space in Lisbon

Portuguese flexible workspace operator district.space has opened its first Lisbon location, one year after launching its first space in a coastal city, Setúbal. The new coworking site covers 1,800 sqm across ten above-ground floors and provides around 150 workstations.
The workspace is located at one of Lisbon’s prime central business areas. It includes 25 private offices ranging from 15 to 23 sqm, alongside four meeting rooms. Several lounge areas provide additional space for informal meetings and collaboration.
According to district.space director Bárbara Bouçon, the Lisbon location is intended to serve as a hub bringing together companies, institutions, organisations and startups. The operator describes its model as a regenerative workspace built for impact and connection, combining flexible workspace with community and collaboration between local businesses and institutions.
“Urban regeneration happens not only through the physical rehabilitation of buildings, but also through the ability to create communities and economic opportunities” – says Bárbara Bouçon in an interview with HR Portugal.
The Lisbon opening comes around one year after district.space launched its first location in Setúbal in 2025. Setúbal is a coastal city of around 124,000 inhabitants, 50 kilometres south of Lisbon and part of the wider Lisbon metropolitan region.
According to Idealista, district.space expects to open another location before the end of 2026, with the next space targeting a more institutional and corporate customer profile.
