IWG To Expand Aggressively in Spain to Capitalize on Booming Economy, targeting 500 locations

International Workplace Group (IWG), the coworking multi-brand global group behind Regus, Spaces or Signature, is set to significantly expand its footprint in Spain, aiming to take advantage of the country’s strong economic momentum.
The Switzerland based company, which already operates via its different brands, 70 flexible workspace locations in Spain, plans to grow its network by 25% to 30% in 2025, bringing it close to 100 locations by the end of the year, says an article in Expansion. Over the next four to five years, IWG targets between 400 and 500 workspaces nationwide, marking an ambitious push into new cities, including the Balearic and Canary Islands, while strengthening its presence in Madrid, Barcelona, and other major urban centers.
In 2024, the company added 11 new locations, expanding into cities like A Coruña and Cádiz while reinforcing its position in Madrid, Seville, and Málaga. This year, IWG will continue its aggressive expansion, including the launch of a new space in Madrid’s Moda Shopping center near the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. CEO Mark Dixon sees Spain as a fertile ground for growth, with businesses eager to support their employees with flexible workspace options.
The different IWG brands position themselves on specific segments. Regus focuses on productivity and smaller workspaces, in big cities or small towns; Signature, offers premium offices in central locations; Spaces is designed for larger work environments ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 m2; HQ provides solutions for different kinds of businesses.
As its Spanish presence grows, IWG plans to introduce more of its brands to further diversify its offering.
Globally, IWG manages over 4,000 locations across 120 countries and reported €3.43 billion in revenue last year.
