Swiss Leading Coworking Operator Westhive Launches a Coworking Space on Wheels Bookable via AirBnB

One of the leading Swiss coworking operators Westhive launches Westhive Express, a mobile coworking initiative featuring offices inside refurbished double-decker buses.
The first inauguration trip is planned shortly. More Westhive Express buses will then hit the road in Switzerland and, later, abroad, explains a press release.
The converted double-decker buses are equipped with a coffee bar, Wi-Fi, power outlets, and modern workstations. Small tables with umbrellas at the front of the bus will invite one to take a creative break outdoors—whether by the lake, at a festival, or in a rural community.
Launched in 2017, Westhive is one of the most important coworking space operators in Switzerland. Nowadays, Westhive runs locations in Zurich, Genève, Basel or Zoug.
All Westhive Express buses will be available through Airbnb – and not through any traditional coworking space booking platform so far. The coworking bus will be part of Airbnb’s global “Live & Work Anywhere” program.
“Westhive Express is more than just an office on wheels—it symbolizes new work modalities, freedom, and mobility,” states Andreas Widmer, co-founder of Westhive, in a press release. The release does not specify whether the initiative also aims to enhance marketing and Westhive’s brand visibility.
The Westhive Express initiative is undertaken in collaboration with AMAG, one of Switzerland’s largest car dealerships and automotive service providers, and a major corporate client of Westhive since 2018.
Philipp Wetzel, Managing Director of AMAG Corporate Development, Innovation & Venture LAB, remarks in the press release, “The fusion of mobility, hospitality, and productive work naturally follows the evolution of the digital lifestyle. With the support of AMAG Classic, we are able to launch Westhive Express.”
